Privacy Policy

Throughout this document, the terms “Filester”, “we”, “us”, “our”, “I”, “me”, and “my” refer to the developer and the Filester application. This document describes how your personal data is collected, used, and handled when you use the application.

What & Why

To help improve Filester, maintain stability, and resolve bugs, we process certain anonymous information under the following conditions:

1. Diagnostics

This feature includes crash reporting and performance monitoring to ensure the security, stability, and functionality of the application. It is enabled by default and cannot be disabled. The collected information is strictly limited to:

• Application version
• Crash logs, stack traces, and performance metrics

Note: Diagnostics and performance monitoring features are completely stripped from the FOSS variant of the application, available on F-Droid and IzzyOnDroid stores.

2. Usage analytics

By default, usage analytics are disabled. You can optionally choose to opt-in from the application settings to share anonymous metrics. This information helps us understand usage patterns and better develop future features. If you choose to enable this option, we process:

• Number of successful uploads compared to failures. This will determine the upload success ratio.
• Approximate location (based on IP address)
• Operating system version
• Device model

Again, this information is processed solely for improving Filester. Your data is not disclosed to third parties for any purposes, such as marketing, advertising, or profiling.

Security

Filester does NOT process, inspect, or share your files or their metadata with others. These files are stored on third-party cloud storage service(s). Therefore, you are responsible for the security and privacy of your files.

Changes

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, and will post the most current version on this page. Make sure to check this document periodically to stay informed of and acknowledge any changes.
